Gujarat Taxi Fare Guide 2026: What You Should Actually Pay
Per-km rates by car type, how one-way and round-trip billing differ, what driver allowance and night charges really are, and the extras to watch for.

Cab pricing in Gujarat is not complicated, but it is quoted inconsistently — which is why two operators can give you numbers 40% apart for the same trip. Here is the structure underneath.
Per-kilometre rates (2026)
| Vehicle | One-way | Round trip |
|---|---|---|
| Hatchback | ₹11/km | ₹9.5/km |
| Sedan | ₹12/km | ₹10/km |
| Ertiga | ₹15/km | ₹13/km |
| Innova | ₹17/km | ₹15/km |
| Innova Crysta | ₹20/km | ₹17.5/km |
| Tempo Traveller 12+1 | ₹26/km | ₹23/km |
One-way vs round trip
A one-way trip is billed on the distance you actually travel, with a minimum of about 130 km — the operator has to bring the car back empty, and that minimum is how that cost is shared rather than hidden.
A round trip is billed on total running with a minimum of 250–300 km per calendar day. A two-day Rajkot–Dwarka–Rajkot trip is 460 km of actual running, but bills at 500 km because two days × 250 km applies.
Driver allowance
₹300–₹800 per day depending on vehicle class. It covers the driver's food and night halt. It is per day, not per trip — a three-day tour carries three allowances.
Night charge
₹250–₹700 for pickups between 10 PM and 6 AM. A legitimate charge; what is not legitimate is applying it to a 9 PM pickup.
Tolls, permits and GST
Tolls run roughly ₹1.10 per km on highway routes. Interstate trips (Rajasthan, Maharashtra, MP) add a border permit of ₹700–₹2,500 depending on state and vehicle. GST on passenger road transport is 5%.
Three things to check before you confirm
- Is the quote inclusive of tolls? Ask explicitly. This is where most disputes start.
- What is the billable km, not the route km? For round trips these differ.
- Is there a cancellation window? Four hours free is the fair market norm.
A worked example
Rajkot → Dwarka one way, sedan, 230 km, 8 AM pickup:
- Base: 230 km × ₹12 = ₹2,760
- Driver allowance: ₹300
- Night charge: ₹0
- Toll estimate: (230 − 40) × ₹1.10 = ₹209
- GST 5%: ₹163
- Total ≈ ₹3,432
If a quote comes in dramatically below that, ask which line item was removed — usually it is the toll, and you will pay it at the plaza yourself.
