Twelve years later there are 180 cars, but the thing that has not changed is that a person answers the phone and a named driver turns up.
DiuCab began in 2014 running pilgrims between Rajkot, Dwarka and Somnath. The route was well served and badly served at the same time: plenty of cars, almost no reliability. Fares were negotiated at the door, tolls appeared at the end of the trip, and nobody could tell you who would be driving until they arrived.
We built the opposite of that. Fares are itemised before you book. Tolls are estimated up front and reconciled against receipts. The driver's name and vehicle number reach you the evening before travel. None of it is clever — it is just what we would want as passengers.
Today we run 180 owned vehicles across 160 cities, and we have completed more than 2,40,000 trips. We are not an aggregator: every car is ours, every driver is on our payroll, and every complaint lands on a desk in Rajkot rather than in a support queue somewhere else.
